Year Four Blog

Our new topic is ‘Groovy Greeks’ and we are absolutely loving it. We have plotted a timeline, learnt about Greece and have done lots of research about the Gods. Mr Brathwaite has been reading us myths everyday and we have a fantastic class story called ‘Who Let the Gods Out?’.

In English, we have looked at the Jabberwocky poem but our main focus over the next few weeks will be to write our own original Greek myth (we already have loads of ideas!)

In maths, we have been working with decimals. Last week we were making, ordering and comparing them and this week we have been learning to add and subtract them by regrouping and using the formal column method. Next week we will be moving on to money problems.

We have also started a brand new science topic about solids, liquids and gases. Mrs Stickland taught us about sorting them into categories and we conducted an investigation about the weight of gases in different fizzy drinks

We are really looking forward to our learning over the next few weeks!
