Year Two Blog

We have begun the year by working on our termly topic of ‘Toys’ and trying to answer the question ‘Do we all play the same?’

We have looked at toys within our history lessons and had a special visit from a Toy Maker. Within history, we have looked at how toys have changed over time, different materials used and the types of toys from different periods.

We have then continued our work on ‘Toys’ through into our D&T sessions. We began by visiting the Royston Town Park to see how the equipment was used as well as how it has been constructed.

We then went on to designing and creating our own proto-types of toys from the park, before making our own colourful working play equipment.

We are looking forward to continuing our work on ‘Toys’ over the next half term too, where we will be looking at links to geography and art.
