Year Two Blog
We began the year thinking about class rules and responsibilities. Year 2 decided that the 5 most important things to them would be to always try your best, be kind to others, look after our school, respect everyone and to be happy!
Our literacy work began with looking at Fairytales. We started with Little Red Riding Hood. The children then wrote the most amazing stories based on the model of Little Red Riding Hood. We have been very impressed with the super use of imagination and creativity shown in the stories.
The topic focus has been Florence Nightingale, which has been very exciting. On display in our classroom, there are beautiful portraits of her alongside Nightingale lamps that the children have made. The children also showed great empathy and understanding when learning about the bravery of the famous wartime nurse, Edith Cavell.
We are all very much looking forward to our Art trip later this term to the Henry Moore Foundation.
