They dressed up as Victorian children and experienced a Victorian style lesson in an authentic Victorian classroom. After reading from the “reading made easy” book, they completed a maths activity on slates with their slate pencils, which included adding up shillings, pennies, farthings and guineas. They then completed a handwriting activity using quill pens and ink. After lunch, the children had a “Drill” lesson, which involved copying the movements as instructed by the Victorian teacher.
