We have enjoyed learning about the Hindu festival of light called Diwali. We had great fun learning a new dance and all about the story of Rama and Sita. We made diva lamps and drew mehndi patterns.

We also learnt about why we celebrate Bonfire Night.  The children learnt about Guy Fawkes and his ‘Gunpowder Plot’.  Did you know that Guy Fawkes hid 36 barrels of dynamite under the House or Parliament!  The children then made some fantastic 3d firework models.

We talked about Remembrance Day and created beautiful watercolour paintings of the poppy fields.

After this it has been everything Christmas!  In literacy we read ‘The Jolly Christmas Postman’ and used our super phonics to write letters to Father Christmas.  They made some lovely winter crafts on decoration day and were amazing in their play ‘Christmas with the Aliens.’  Which we hope you will enjoy watching on Google Classrooms.

We are looking forward to our Christmas dinner and party.
