This term we have followed the children’s interest in dinosaurs as well as learning about different celebrations, including Bonfire Night, Remembrance Day and Diwali.
The children had the opportunity during literacy to design their own dinosaurs. The children talked about how we know that dinosaurs existed and learnt about living and non-living things, making their own fossils. We carried out an investigation on how we could help our dinosaurs escape from the ice.
They have explored different media and materials and used various techniques to create lots of wonderful art work linked to these topics. They made fantastic poppy pictures with Mrs Hill, firework pictures and beautiful chalk Rangoli patterns in the playground.
In maths the children have been measuring and comparing, ordering objects according to their width, length and height. They have also learnt about repeating patterns and created their own patterns.
We finished this term with everything festive! Card and wreath making, making snowflakes, robins and snowman and of course our wonderful performance ‘Snowman at Sunset’.
We hope you all have a lovely rest and look forward to seeing you all in January.
