We have had a very busy term learning thorough our topics of ‘Marvellous Me’, ‘Harvest and Autumn.   In our literacy sessions, we have been sharing stories linked to our topics such as ‘The Colour Monster’, ‘Oliver’s Vegetables’ and ‘Don’t Hog the Hedge’, recalling key events, story characters and story settings.  The children have done some wonderful work such as their Colour Monster mood paintings and pictures of our Autumn walk.

In maths the children have been developing their counting skills, exploring numbers and quantities.  They have been learning to recognise number patterns, subitising amounts up to 6.  The children have also been exploring 2d shapes, going on a shape in our garden.

The children have also been exploring a range of media and materials this term , creating some wonderful art work and models, including salt dough houses, pirate ships, robots and vegetable printing.

In PE the children have played lots of fun games, including ‘Mud Monsters’ to develop their ability to walk and move different ways safely around a space, avoiding obstacles.

We are looking forward to next term, when we will be following the children’s interests of Dinosaurs.
