We began the term by reading the story of ‘Goldilocks and The Three Bears’, learning about story structures, key events and story characters, having great fun retelling the story on our outdoor stage.

The children have also enjoyed making stick puppets,  writing letters to ‘The Three Bears’, making porridge and even making a sandwich for their own teddies.

In maths the children have been learning about size.  Describing the size of objects, using a range of words and ordering objects according to their size.  They have also been learning to use positional language to describe where an object is.

The children enjoyed reading the story of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’.  They drew a picture of their favourite part of the story, re-told the story in our giant’s castle, explored a range of materials to make beanstalks and castles and counted magic beans.

The children have really enjoyed the build up to Christmas.  They read the story of the ‘Jolly Christmas Postman’.  The children have learnt all about how letters are delivered.  Writing their own letter to Father Christmas and walking to the post box to post them.

The children have been fantastic this term and we are very proud of all their achievements.

We are looking for to next term and our new topic ‘Dinosaurs’.
