A dinosaur egg landed in our garden over the weekend! This caused great discussion! We discussed what we thought might be in the egg, listened to see if we could hear anything inside the egg, and made posters on how to keep it safe. One of the children even suggested that we phone David Attenborough to see whether he knew what was inside the egg!
Then it hatched and out came a baby Tyrannosaurs Rex! We called him Tod and wrote descriptive sentences about him.
The egg led us to believe that there might be more dinosaur objects in the garden, so we became palaeontologists and discovered bones and fossils. We carefully excavated the sight, and the children were using language associated with dinosaurs, such as extinct and fossil.
