We went on winter walks and noticed the ice and cold outside.

“There’s ice on the grass”

“I can see through it”

We looked at clothes that keep us warm as well as learning to do up a zip!

We explored cold colours and made our very own snowflakes using buttons and lollysticks.

After looking at artic animals, we were able to sort animals to where they lived – hot or cold.

“I don’t want to live in an igloo – it’s too cold!”

We even did an experiment to see where ice would melt the fastest.

Lunar New Year

We read the stories ‘The Great Race’ and ‘Dragons in the City’ to help us learn about Lunar New Year. We drew dragons on the iPads, made some dragons and dragon heads and even made a dragon dance!

“My dragon has fire in his mouth”

We tasted noodles and crackers with chopsticks.

“It’s hard to use these!”

“I need a fork”

Prepositions

We have been learning all about in, on and under. We have been brilliant at using our words to describe where things are.

“It’s under the table”

“It’s on the chair”

“It’s in the basket”

Shapes

We have been finding shapes in the environment as well as getting creative with some shape penguins!

“It’s a triangle”

“It has got 2 squares”

“It a round circle”

Rhyming strings

As part of our phonics learning, we have been using our listening skills to try and identify rhyming strings.
