Meet the Governors

The Governing body is made up of staff, parents, members of the Local Authority and members of the local community. Governors play a vital role in the leadership and management of the school, providing support and challenge to ensure that the school is the very best that it can be.  They set the strategic direction of the school by working with the leadership team to, amongst other responsibilities, agree policies, set and review targets, review budgets and staffing, ensure parents and pupils are involved, consulted and informed as appropriate, and make information available to the community.

At Studlands Rise the governors take a keen interest in the school and regularly visit to make sure that they understand how the school runs on a day-to-day basis by taking part in learning walks with the leadership team, conducting some staff and pupil voice, taking part in class trips, supporting whole school events, to name just a few.

The Full Governing Body meets termly.  The Curriculum committee and Finance, Premises and Personnel committee also hold joint meetings on a termly basis.

Please direct any correspondence that you have for school governors to the school office.

Governor Profile

Mr Robert Frost

Co Opted Governor

Member of Finance, Premises and Personnel Committee

Linked governor for Premises and Health and Safety

Member of Headteacher Performance Management Panel

I have three children who all attend Studlands Rise so I have a direct parental interest in working in partnership with the school. I was elected as a Co-opted Governor in 2018 and look forward to supporting the team to ensure that every child successfully takes their first steps on the learning journey, so they may grow into independent learners who are able to approach the next stage of their education with confidence.

At work I am a commercial surveyor and have been a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors since 2008, as well as holding a degree in Law and a post graduate qualification.
